Traditional Basin Taps
Trinity
Tap
Unless you are going for the Art Deco look, make sure you
go for single basin taps every time. You never found hot and
cold water conveniently mixed to the optimum temperature in
a Victorian bathroom, much less from any earlier period!
You may think that cross head taps are the only option, but
even if you have decided on this as a style, there are still
plenty of choices to make, not least what finish to choose.
Do you want a fluted spout, for example, which can be found
on the Bristan Trinity range? This gives a more romantic,
feminine look. How about the length of the neck? A long neck
again is more elegant.
Cardinal
Basin Taps
Should the ceramic indices be domed or flush? Do you want
complicated angular moulding? Should your cross head be straight
(such as the Bristan Cardinal collection) or do you prefer
a rounded globe-like end (such as those on the Bristan Fairfax)?
Ultimately the choice is down to personal preference, but
it is worth considering the shape of your basin.
Try to keep your tap choice in keeping proportionally and
stylistically with your suite choice. This will help to draw
your period look together.
